For the money this is actually a pretty amazing umbrella. The crank works fine to open and close it, and the first day we installed it it actually rained and kept us quite dry. We mostly use it to keep the sun off of us and it doesn't excellent job doing just that. It's a pretty large umbrella, and definitely a good deal for the money like I said above. Would highly recommend. Hopefully it holds up, but for now I've got no complaints.

This is a great umbrella for the price. All i had to do was put the top pole in the bottom pole and it was ready to use. It does NOT come with a base, so you'll need to get one if you don't have one. I had a couple from umbrellas that had been damaged by storms, so I had a base ready. It cranks open and closed really easily and has a keeper strap to keep it closed. Good price for a good, simple umbrella.

The crank is easy to operate, however, once the canopy is fully open, you do have to reach up and fumble with a manual push-button while standing on your tip-toes if you want tilt.Living in a dry, high-sun area, I know exactly how brutal the heat can be on outdoor gear. The fabric thickness is decent for this price point; it feels sturdy enough to provide a cooling block, and the 8-rib construction gives it a stable frame against light breezes. While it might not be a "forever" umbrella, I fully expect to get a good two or three seasons out of it before the UV exposure eventually wins. For a basic, functional market umbrella that does exactly what it's supposed to do, this is a great value purchase that has made my back patio much more usable in the afternoons.
